Cambridge is Europe’s most renowned and one of the world’s famous biotechnology hubs. Global Biotech Revolution was originally founded in Cambridge and our organisation is still located here. The biennial GapSummit in Cambridge is therefore our most prestigious flagship event.

GapSummit 2020 will be hosted at the University of Cambridge. With numerous biotech and pharmaceutical companies located in Cambridge, the city is characterised by a unique passion and aspiration to drive the global bio-economy and improve human health.

Beyond its role in driving the biotech industry, Cambridge is a truly idyllic city, which provides wonderful insights into British history and culture. Among many social activities across Cambridge, we will take you on an iconic punting tour on the river Cam and take you back in time by dining in the historic Trinity College Hall.

Directions to Cambridge


The City of Cambridge is located in the East of England, 50 miles north of London. It is well served by road and rail links and is within easy distance of the major London airports.

EU flights: London Stansted Airport is just 30 miles from Cambridge. An hourly 35 min direct train service runs from Stansted to the City. It is also possible to fly directly into Cambridge by using Cambridge International Airport. However, very limited flights are available to and from Cambridge International Airport. We recommend using London Stansted Airport.

Intercontinental flights
London Heathrow Airport is situated 3h from Cambridge. It is possible to take a train into London King’s Cross and then take another
train to Cambridge.

There are regular services to Cambridge from London King’s Cross and London Liverpool Street stations. The fastest trains leave from London King’s Cross every half hour and take 50 min.

Cambridge is an hour’s drive from London, depending on traffic. Please do note that the center of Cambridge is mostly private-car-free, especially around the conference venue. Parking at the GapSummit venue is not available.
